| The pastor of the Meeker Assembly of God testified on
behalf of Raye Dawn. He stated that Raye Dawn had been involved in
his church intermittently for years, so he was familiar with Raye Dawn. According to the pastor, when told of the autopsy Raye Dawn said, "I'm glad, because I want to know what has happened to my baby.” She rocked Kelsey's dead body and talked to her while being consoled by the pastor. "I can never talk about this without choking up,” the pastor said. "I'll never forget it.” The pastor further testified that Mike Porter, Kelsey's stepfather, acted strangely. The pastor went on to describe how Mike Porter "questioned why God took Kelsey, made agonizing noises, bounced off the walls, and beat his fists on the floor." Yet, he did not comfort Raye Dawn. This struck the pastor as "not right." Porter appeared to the pastor to be overreacting. "It bothered me. It really troubled me that he was responding the way he was responding,” the pastor said. Porter explained to the pastor how he thought Kelsey was having a seizure, so he tried to save her with CPR. "He said, ‘I just hope I wasn't too rough with her,'” the pastor said.
